One of the selling points of Windows Vista was that it was "more secure" than Windows XP or previous Windows Operating Systems. If this is the case wouldn't it stand to reason that there should be many more security updates for Windows XP than Windows Vista? Instead, it appears as though Microsoft is going nearly 1:1 with the *same* security updates for Vista, XP, 2003, and even Windows 2000. Yet another month's updates are set to roll out, and yet again the same vulnerability affects all the supported platforms. I'm calling bullshit.

See the Affected Software section. Granted the Vista advisories are listed as "moderate" instead of "critical", but if we're par for the course they're subjectively listed that way because most likely it's only "critical" if you run as administrator on your desktop with the Vista User Access Control (UAC) turned off... which most people I know with Vista do.

The CW network has given a 13-episode midseason renewal to its comedic hourlong series Reaper, Variety reported. The story centers on a slacker guy (Bret Harrison) who's forced to work for the devil (Ray Wise), thanks to a Faustian bargain made years ago by his parents. The freshman series from ABC Studios has a cadre of loyal fans but has otherwise struggled in the ratings.

The renewal decision went down to the wire, coming hours before the CW's 2008-09 upfront presentation in New York on May 13, the trade paper reported.

This is really just a test message. I wish it were something more but it's not. I just moved web hosts and am using cPanel for the first time. I did an eval on it a few years ago as part of a job looking for a hosting platform for someone but it wasn't nearly what it is now. What it is now is bizzaroland if you're used to vanilla Linux. =)

I think things are settling in now. I've managed to figure out most of the issues with moving a non-cPanel created site into cPanel but the Gallery is totally busted. That doesn't *look* like cPanel's fault however. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I grew up in Buffalo, so it kind of cracks me up when I see people freaking out about three inches of snow in the Northwest. I mean, I used to jump off the roof of the garage and do flips into the snow in my back yard it was so deep. Yet, we would still have school and be able to drive. Then I realized the difference... inclines.

Why even a bit of snow is evil in the Northwest...

Can American car makers be car makers and not creative oil-burners? As symbols of ingenuity, creativity, and engineering - are they lost?
